Need a Job? Try Tech!

Can you configure a router?

Can you build a Windows PC?

Do you know what IP v6 is?

Do you know how many layers are in the OSI stack?  Do you even know what the OSI stack is?

Do you care?  Maybe you should – while the economy is slowly, and I mean slowly beginning to come back to some sense of normalcy, the employment market is still pretty tough.  Our clients, while thBe a Techieey do seem to have better luck in getting jobs than the majority of Americans, are still telling us they are sending out more resumes, being asked to do more phone screens and are going through more interviews than Charlie Sheen and his “goddesses.”

But in technology it seems to be much easier to find a job these days – An article posted on NPR has indicated that the job market for tech geeks is booming with a capital ‘B’ with the go-to technology job board dice.com’s vice presideMobile Developers - Apply Here!nt, Tom Silver saying they have 30% more jobs posted than they did last year; and our recruiter friends are telling us they are overwhelmed with tech openings and vastly underwhelmed with candidates.  Even college grads are getting tons of offers. In some cases they are actually in the center of bidding wars – when was the last time we heard that?  Unemployment for those that class themselves as IT folks is at 5.9% compared to 9% across all job types. The hot areas seem to be in web and mobile application development.

Well, what are you waiting for?

BTW technology is an area where Careers Done Write has a lot of expertise – take a look at one of our samples
