Resume Help – Financial Information Technology Project Manager

Today’s résumé help is an interesting one.  Today's candidate, Jim, has some excellent skills.  He is in the technology space, but originally came from a financial background and was at one point a CPA.  He has diverse project management experience and most recently worked on a project in the telecommunication space as a manager.

This résumé is a perfect example of how important it is for someone who wants to advance their career to take extreme care when it comes to how they present themselves.  Jim has created a résumé that has the right stuff in terms of his technical know-how, but he has done a very poor job of execution and the résumé falls flat when it comes to making a positive impression.

In a very strong economy he could probably get away with this and still get a job, but even in the best economy, Jim would not be positioning himself for executive level career advancement and the salary that comes along with that.

This résumé is filled with errors and Jim was doing himself serious harm by using this in an attempt to get a job. Please click on the images below to read a detailed critique of Jim’s résumé.
