Résumé Help - Senior User Experience Engineer

Today we are going to focus on a portion of a résumé written by a senior user experience engineer. The résumé is not providing Tim with a polished image. He has numerous grammatical errors and the visual appeal is lacking.

As someone involved in user experience, Tim’s résumé should reflect his ability to create an aesthetically pleasing document. The formatting, lack of attention to font types, and overall look of the résumé do not showcase his abilities and could cost him.

Tim starts his résumé listing skills. While a skills section is certainly desirable, Tim has neglected to create a headline and a summary to describe his value to employers and establish his brand image. Within the Work History section, Tim needs to provide more detail by explaining his duties and generating quantifiable achievements. Tim would likely benefit from hiring a professional writer since English is not his first language. By having a professional create his résumé, he can increase his chances of getting interviews with the best companies in the San Francisco Bay area.
