How Can I Create a Stand Out Presentation for an Interview?

Debra WheatmanDear Deb:

I have a third interview coming up, and as a part of the process, the hiring team has asked me to put together a presentation on how I would craft a digital marketing strategy for one of their products. I want to show them I know what I’m talking about, but I’m having a tough time getting the background information on the products, how they’re marketing them now, and what the revenue is for the products. How can I get this information to make my presentation stand out?

Freaked Out

Dear Freaked Out:

You don’t need to put this granular level of detail in your presentation. The hiring team wants to see that you understand the concepts of digital marketing. They want to see how you think, and how you would go about tacklingbusiness woman giving presentation one of their business problems. They don’t expect you to understand their products; they want you to demonstrate that you understand their pain! Focus your presentation on the business problem that they’ve already told you they have.Good luck!
