Résumé Help - Vice President of Audio Visual Sales

Today we take a look at Syed Omar, who is looking for a Vice President of Sales role in the audio visual and broadcasting space.

Overall, Syed did a fairly good job with this résumé, particularly in relation to listing his achievements; however some of these could be strengthened.  The SAR method is the best way to improve the impact that select accomplishments make. Think S for situation, A for action, and R for results.

Syed would benefit from creating a strong headline with a comprehensive summary statement that explains his strengths to the reader. He should brand himself as an industry expert early in the résumé to grab the reader’s attention.

Syed is also missing his contact information on page 2 of his résumé.  If the résumé is printed out and page 2 is separated from page 1 for any reason, the hiring manager may not be able to contact him. The résumé has some formatting related issues as well.  To learn more and get ideas that will help you improve your résumé, click on the image below
