Résumé Help: Categorizing Skills and Achievements

At the bottom of his résumé, this candidate placed a section, “Professional Development and Achievements.”   Included was a mixture of skills, software, a Toastmaster’s educational achievement, and the word, “Book author.”   There are a couple of issues with this strategy.  Firstly, there is no logic as to why this mismatched list is in the same category.  Secondly, it is at the very bottom.  So, we would have to read all the way to the end of the résumé to find that the candidate is a book author.  Furthermore, he does not give us any details about the book, such as title, publisher, or date of publication. If you look at the sample below, you will see suggestions as to the more appropriate placement and categorization for this section.  If the candidate does not re-organize this information, it will look as if he threw this document together without appropriate consideration.
