Résumé Help - Investment Risk Professional

Overall, in contrast to many résumés that I get across my desk, I would say that this one is fairly well written.  It makes good use of verbs and points out strengths in a concise way. When it comes to résumés in the investment world, while it is optimal to keep them to one page, there may be instances in which having a 2-pager makes more sense.

Since this candidate has not recently worked within the field she seeks to pursue, I feel her résumé would be enhanced by adding a Career Highlights section.  This would allow her to mention her previous expertise and the many accomplishments she attained early on in the résumé.  She could also expand her core competency section and further brand herself as an investment professional with a powerful headline that is more visually noticeable.

Then she would be able to bring her most recent experience up to the top. Presently it looks like she has not worked since 2007 at first glance. This can be very damaging. As it turns out, she has been working as an accounting assistant most recently.  I recommend she draw out transferable skills and keeps the section pertaining to her current role brief.

I have made additional recommendations about her résumé below.  Please click on the image to see specific suggestions that may be of help to you as you prepare your own résumé.
